Freelance Media Group also produces and promotes numerous major events in the charitable, political, cultural, entertainment, educational and business fields. Also beauty pageants and fashion shows. In November 1996 Abu Taha founded The Ambassadors' Club, a unique business association with a new concept in networking which added the elements of fun and entertainment into networking. The group enjoys the support of high level business and professional leaders. The club participates in several worthy community activities such as clothing, food, toy, blood and book drives benefiting various local and national organizations. Freelance Media Group is the producer and promoter of the highly publicized Annual Ambassadors' Soiree, a star studded formal event that attracts over 2000 fun seeking Houstonians. A contest for best dressed woman takes place at this event and a Soiree Queen is crowned. The Soiree takes place at the Doubletree Hotel/Post Oak late June of each year. A Food Drive to benefit End Hunger Network is organized with thousands of pounds of food collected. Other major events organized by FMG is the Annual Halloween Gala to benefit Toys For Tots along with the United States Marine Corps late October of each year. The glamorous Annual Christmas Bash to benefit children with cancer and a celebrity fashion show in mid December. Also another elaborate fashion show in the spring of each year with a clothing drive to benefit The Star of Hope Mission, among other events planned by FMG. He published a monthly business journal (The Ambassadors’ Journal) for 5 years. He conducted monthly interviews with prominent personalities and featured them in his journal. He is a public speaker who enjoys speaking to civic and business organizations on social responsibilities, cultural differences, motivation, the art of networking, the art of communication, the art of appreciation and the art of common sense. He also conducts training seminars and workshops on the art of sales, time management and customer service. He emceed many public and private events and played the role of an auctioneer. He appeared on the Debra Duncan Show several times and various programs and newscasts. He is also an avid cook, specializing in healthy cooking with a Middle Eastern touch. He is auctioned off as “Chef Riyad” in various galas to benefit charities. Abu Taha also loves to entertain. His passion is dancing.
